Synty Combat
#SYNTYGameJam
Enter the cockpit as a pilot in the Krasnovian Air Force. The neighboring Republic of Mojave has been acting aggressively around the Sonora Island chain. What could they want with these small islands?
Note: Web player performance is quite poor. I included a Windows build in a zip file as an alternative
(Gamepad required)
Controls (Xbox):
L Stick - Roll/Pitch
R Stick - Camera
Triggers - Yaw
R Bumper - Throttle Up
L Bumper - Throttle Down (Hold for Airbrake)
A - Fire Cannon
B - Launch Missile
X - Select Weapon
Y - Cycle Targets
Push Left Stick - Drop decoys (flares/chaff)
Weapons:
Cannon - Close range weapon. Aiming reticle will appear if target is within 1,000m
Sidewinder - Infrared missile. Range 2,500m. Can be decoyed. If the target has afterburners on, missile range is increased and decoys become less effective
AMRAAM - Radar guided missile. Range 10,000m. Can be decoyed. Can be notched. HUD shows an X symbol across the target if missile is notched.
HARM - Anti-radar missile. Range 7,500m. Locks onto ground based radars, such as SAM launchers.
Tips:
Watch your airspeed. Too slow or too fast, and you won't be able to turn.
Notching is when the target turns perpendicular to the missile. This makes it invisible to missile's onboard radar. This mostly applies to slow moving targets, but it can happen if a fighter jet turns at the right angle.
HARMs require the SAM to lock on to you first

Love it. Maybe the only downside right now is that it requires a gamepad, but other than that it is amazing and fun. Also, I think that if you go vertical and stall, you can't recover, or at least that's what I saw.
The plane has a thrust to weight ratio more than 1. So if you go full throttle you will eventually gain enough speed to recover.
Oh okay
